Thanks to the hyperinflation in which Venezuela is submerged, Venezuelans will have to wash with totuma (gourds, squash) when they go to the bathroom, because the price of toilet paper is through the roof.

110 thousand bolivars is what a Venezuelan must pay for four paper rolls, this represents 61% of the MONTHLY minimum wage, which is 177,506 bolivars.

That's about $1.50.

Apparently, the wish of the late President Hugo Chávez to bathe with totumas and live on barter is being fulfilled

One dollar purchases approximately 108,200 Bolivar "Fuerte" (or 108,200,000 of the old Bolivars that Chavez devalued)

In August, the Bolivar Fuerte was at 17,981 Bs to the USD.
