Venezuela ANC boss: We don't need your humanitarian help!

"We do not need alms" said Ricardo Sánchez about the opening of a humanitarian channel
Posted on December 12, 2017by Luis Alfredo Ledezma in Nationals

The deputy of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), Ricardo Sanchez, said on Tuesday that it is "irresponsible" to ask for humanitarian aid that allows the entry of food and medicine in the face of the economic crisis in the country, which has caused the death of Venezuelans. malnutrition and diseases already eradicated in the world such as diphtheria.

"We do not need the humanitarian channel, we want them to remove the sanctions so that we can buy the medicines and be able to guarantee them to the patients. We do not need handouts from the international community or the government of the United States (USA), " he said during an interview on Union Radio.

FYI: The "sanctions" prohibit US firms from doing business with about 40 Venezuelan (Chavista) individuals. It also prohibits US firms from buying more Venezuelan debt. But to to hear the Chavistas caterwaul, you'd think that the "sanctions" were far more sinister.

As far as buying food and medicine, that is another wholesale lie. They don't have the cash to buy food and medicine. The Bolivar is worthless. Nobody deals with Venezuela anymore unless it is cash up front.

Also, to accept aid "unconditionally" would open a can of worms that Chavismo couldn't abide.

Apparently, once such a designation is assigned and a nation accepts aid, it loses some measure of autonomy. Maduro won't have that. He wants to control the aid. That is how he buys his votes. (see elections last Sunday as an example, ie CLAP bags for votes)
