Cuban foreign minister accuses US of lying about mysterious health attacks

After weeks of growing hostility between the U.S. and Cuba over "health attacks" on American personnel at the embassy in Havana, Cuba is firing back.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla not only blamed the U.S. for politicizing the attacks, but also categorically denied that any attacks have occurred in a press conference in Washington Thursday.

The State Department has said that 24 Americans have been affected by mysterious targeted attacks that cause a range of symptoms including permanent hearing loss, loss of balance and dizziness, cognitive issues, and, in some cases, from mild traumatic brain injury. The U.S. has blamed Cuba for not taking care of its diplomats, but not for the attack themselves.

Rodríguez has now mounted Cuba's loudest defense yet.

Cuba says "no evidence" Americans have been attacked

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said Thursday that his government has found "no evidence whatsoever" to back up U.S. claims that American personnel have been subjected to attacks in Havana.

Rodriguez pressed that Cuba can "categorically affirm" there has not been any kind of attack, based on the Cuban investigation led by "top levels" of the government and what the country has seen of the U.S. investigation.

CBS News has reported that numerous American staffers at the U.S. embassy have been subjected to mysterious attacks. The staffers said they heard loud, strange bizarre before falling ill, prompting speculation that they were targeted by sonic devices.

Rodriguez claims that those who say attacks are causing these health problems are "deliberately lying." He believes the correlation is being made as a pretext for the Trump administration to pursue a political objective of reversing the thaw in U.S.-Cuba relations, which began under the Obama administration.

2. This guy would claim Hussein didnt snatch infants from incubators

Everybody knows the USA is scrupulously honest in claims about its enemies. Everybody knows Vietnam attacked us in the Tonkin Bay incident, that Saddam Hussein snatched infants from incubators, that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, so I don’t for a second think this story might be true.
