Los venezolanos lideran las solicitudes de residencia en Chile en 2017 con 32.089 peticiones en la primera mitad del año, según cifras del Departamento de Extranjería. Los datos, que recoge hoy el diario La Tercera, muestran el número de venezolanos que residen en Chile ha crecido considerablemente estos últimos años y en lo que va de este año ha superado a los peruanos, que conforman la principal comunidad de extranjeros que viven en el país suramericano. (The data, from todays newspaper La Tercera, show the number of Venezuelans who live in Chile has grown considerably in recent years and what goes this year has surpassed the Peruvians, which make up the main community of foreigners living in the South American country.)
Solamente en los primeros seis meses de 2017 ya han solicitado un visado de residencia más venezolanos que en todo el año pasado, cuando se registraron 31.949 peticiones en el Departamento de Extranjería.
