Venezuelan agents seize two more court appointees: opposition

Anggy Polanco and Andrew Cawthorne

CARACAS (Reuters) - Two more people named to an alternative Supreme Court in defiance of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's government were arrested on Wednesday by intelligence agents during a fast-escalating political showdown, the opposition said.

Jesus Rojas and Zuleima Gonzalez were seized in central Anzoategui state after another appointee, Angel Zerpa, was arrested at the weekend, the opposition-led National Assembly said.

Venezuela's majority-backed opposition is demanding Maduro abandon a Sunday election to create a controversial congress with powers to rewrite the country's constitution and override all other institutions.

Foes have said that would institutionalize dictatorship by the ruling Socialist Party. But Maduro insists it is the only way to empower the people and bring peace after four months of anti-government unrest that have killed more than 100 people.

The qualifications of the NEW judges just Constitutionally appointed by the NA:
- 42 Masters degrees,
- 28 doctorate degrees,
- 68 specializations, including international law, constitutional law, labor law and human rights.
- 12 of them speak 3 languages and 10 are bilingual (English or French);
- they have more than 384 years in university teaching among them
- 73 published books, more than 200 forums and 5,000 hours in multidisciplinary trials.

The qualifications of the Chavista appointed "judges", seated illegally by Maduro:
- 7 Masters degrees
- 0 doctorates,
- 15 specializations,
- 15 books (ONLY 3 WITH ISBN),
- 2 did not finish the English course,
- 11 have criminal records (National and international)
- 25 years between all, teaching experience and
- 1,700 hours in sentencing trials

Compare the Maduro judges to the dolt GW Bush, who is only 6 Master's degrees short and has the same total number of PhDs as all 33 of the PSUV's unconstitutionally appointed TSJ appointments added together!
