A Japanese man in his 20s was shot dead in the Colombian city of Medellin on Saturday, local media reported Sunday.
The reports said the man, named as Ryo Isaki, was chasing a robbery suspect who had taken his mobile phone and tablet computer when he was shot multiple times by someone else.
The shooting suspect is still at large, according to the reports.
The Japanese Embassy in Colombia said it cannot give details about the Japanese national until more is known about the incident. It was not immediately known whether the victim was a tourist or a resident of the country.
