KERRY ARRIVES IN ARGENTINA TO LAUNCH HIGH-LEVEL DIALOGUE BETWEEN U.S. AND AGRENTINA
United States Secretary of State, John Kerry, is to arrive tomorrow in Buenos Aires City to hold a meeting with President Mauricio Macri and to take part, along with Foreign Minister Susana Malcorra, of the launching of the High-Level Dialogue between Argentina and the United States, that will seek to address global challenges, among other topics.
During his stay in Buenos Aires, Kerry is to be received by Macri to discuss regional and global cooperation issues, according to a U.S. State Department communiqué.
The launching of the U.S.-Argentina High-Level Dialogue, headed by Malcorra and Kerry, seeks to address pressing global challenges, including bilateral, regional, multilateral, and economic issues, states the official communiqué.
After the bilateral meeting between the Chief Diplomats of Argentina and the United States at the San Martín Palace, both officials will head an expanded meeting with their countries committees and will head a press briefing, informed the Argentine Foreign Ministry.

(14 posts)Is the U.S. returning to the "our backyard" thinking? How is it that these high level talks (Brazil,Venezuela, etc...) more often result in a slowly, but surely presence of U.S. military forces deemed necessary to protect the influx of U.S. needs and corporations that will most likely soon follow.

(160,545 posts)It's starting to look, more than ever, the US real foreign policy has always been formed by a "shadow government" and it has never really made any difference if a Democratic person was the current President or not.
So many US Democrats were hoping having a Democrat in the White House would deepen a sense of respect and cooperation with the democracies of Latin America, instead of working to overthrow them and see them replaced with fascists again.
It's looking very ugly, and it doesn't promise to improve.
