Bolivia Highlights Importance of Hydrocarbons Nationalization

La Paz, Apr 30 (Prensa Latina) President Evo Morales highlighted today the significance of hydrocarbons nationalization process for the Bolivian economy, as well as the redistribution of wealth among the humblest sectors.

He insisted that the delivery of so many social works is possible thanks to the revenues from the sales of hydrocarbons, most of which left the country before year 2006.

During a ceremony to give 150 social houses in the Plan 3000 district, in southeastern Santa Cruz department, Morales contrasted figures that show the benefits of the decision of May 1st, 2006, when a presidential decree gave back the control over energy resources to the State.

He recalled that during the neoliberal governments (1985-2005), the decisions were made in line to the interests of small groups of business people who monopolized the economic activities.
