Colombia Searches Graveyards to Exhume, Identify N.N.

Bogota, Apr 27 (Prensa Latina) Colombia Colombia promotes the exhumation and identification of citizens buried as N.N. (Unknown Name ) without a forecast on the results of these investigations, already started in cemeteries of various departments, experts confirmed today.
We have no estimate of how many bodies we will recover in the graveyards due to poor management of them, because there are few who keep records on the number of buried bodies without prior recognition, in some cases have been taken removed, mixed with others and up to thrown away, stated the director of Legal Medicine, Carlos Valdes, quoted by the newspaper El Colombiano.

Despite the uncertainty around the current work, the specialist explained that they have as starting point just preliminary figures.

According to statistics of our institution, about 84,000 people remain missing, of which 23,000 could be targets of forced disappearance mode, he emphasized.
