Large U.S. Delegation to Participate in Cardiology Forum in Havana

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 12 (acn) Some 70 experts from the United States will take part in the 7th Iberian-American Congress on Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac Imaging, which will take place on April 14-16 in this capital.

The meeting, to be held at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, will bring together 200 delegates from nearly twenty countries, including Spain, Austria, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay, Costa Rica and Cuba, announced to reporters Dr. Amalia Peix, President of the Cuban Society of Nuclear Cardiology, who heads the organizing committee.

Among the personalities attending the Congress are U.S. experts Richard Chazal and Brian Abbott, presidents of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, respectively.

Also included on the list are Maurizio Dondi, of Austria, a Consultant with the Section of Nuclear Medicine of the Division of Human Health of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and Erick Alexanderson, president of the Mexican Society of Cardiology.
The inaugural day's program includes Dr. Brian Abbott's address to participants, while Marcelo Di Carli, also from the U.S., will give a lecture on the current role of nuclear cardiology procedures in the face of emerging modalities.

The Congress will also include an exhibition of products of renowned companies, such as Medisol and Syntermed, both from the United States, and the Isotopes Center of Cuba.
