Intl. Campaign against Venezuelan Elections Denounced in Ecuador
Quito, Nov 24 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan historian Lionel Muñoz denounced here today the existence of an international axis to discredit and deprive of legitimacy the results of parliamentary elections to be held in December 6 and question the Venezuelan institutions. There is an axis Washington-Madrid-Bogota-Caracas that is working very coherently, Muñoz told Prensa Latina.
According to the historian, an evidence of that is a letter addressed some days ago by Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, to President of the Electoral Council Tibisay Lucena, putting into question the transparency and impartiality of Venezuelan electoral authorities.
He also cited the congratulations expressed by the US government to the OAS leader on occasion of the message, the recent tours of the region by ex president of the Spanish Government, Felipe Gonzalez, and the constant remarks of the ex colombian President alvaro Uribe against the Government of President Nicolas Maduro.
It is an entire orchestra that is playing a simphony linked to discrediting the electoral results and to the questioning of Venezuelan institutions, reiterated the political analyst and university professor, who is visiting Ecuador these days. According to Muñoz, the international campaign is aimed at sowing in the public opinion the idea that the Venezuelan electoral system in fragile and there is a biased institutionality, which will serve to justify a violent way out of that situation.

(2,035 posts)Nothing good lately has come out from those individuals regarding the utterly incompetent job Maduro and his buddies have done in Venezuela. And they're supposedly among the most prominent leftist intellectuals out there.
By the way, how does it feel now that Chavismo lost in Argentina and will likely follow suit in the rest of Latin America?
