Flying private to Cuba is the newest luxury getaway

Every day it seems there's a new way to go to Cuba. Even as we wait for the embargo to be lifted (Congress has to do that), airlines are announcing new charters and the historically isolated island nation is preparing for a continuing influx of U.S. travelers.

At the same time, separately, there seems to be a new smartphone-friendly private jet service announced every other day. There are also a lot of companies trying to make hailing a jet as easy as hailing an Uber.

So of course it didn't take too long before these two travel trends came together.

Beginning Oct. 5, on-demand charter service Victor will let travelers book private jet service along with a custom travel itinerary to Cuba from 19 U.S. cities with just a few taps and swipes on their smartphone. Oh, and $40,000.

1. The conditions of travel to Cuba are a true PITA

Hours on line at the airport and then on my last return trip a 8 hour delay and zero information the entire time. And very pricey.

Not that this is the answer but the charter method is terrible and incredibly overpirced for a 44 min flight.
