Those gushing statements adoring Maduro made about as much sense as the rest of the teen idol language we keep hearing from the true believers about the new hero of the Bolivarian revolution (although the fervor seems to have subsided now that the Bolivar is at nearly $1US=700Bs and annual inflation appears to be topping 120%). Shows what happens when you take economic advice from a bird.

4. He has sure turned out to be quite a disappointment since then, huh

He's demonstrated to be totally incompetent and very authoritarian, and under his watch, Venezuela probably has the worst inflation rate in the world, scarcity levels that are unseen anywhere else in the Western Hemisphere, and at the same time more human rights abuses have happened and more political prisoners have been locked up than in any other time under Chavez. Quite an achievement for Hugo's successor. What's worse is that all his fans still believe all the BS about the supposed CIA-backed "economic war" being waged on the country's population by the oligarchs (as if those supposed oligarchs actually wished for their businesses to go down the toilet and they themselves be sent to jail)

5. Why did you drag out an old post from a banned troll to mock posts by progressive DU'ers?

Do you imagine this is a good way to operate among DU'ers who come to read and exchange information?

6. You and the other Chavistas have an interesting definition of "progressive"

If you support regimes like Maduro's or China's or Putin's, i can't really say you're fans of progressives at all.

8. Indeed, the Ven government is not progressive. If people want to call them "leftist" then whatever

Certainly not progressive though.

7. I thought it was funny and then I read the praise of Maduro from you and others

I thought it would be interesting to find out if you still hold the same opinion of Maduro as you did then. Care to share?

Was the troll Catherina? You know, the one who insisted the Ukraine shot down the passenger plane when it was the Russian backed rebels. She liked Maduro too I remember.
