Salvadoran President says his visit to Cuba was a success

HAVANA, Cuba, May 29 (acn) El Salvador´s President Salvador Sanchez described as successful his recent visit to Cuba given the signing of important accords aimed at consolidating bilateral commercial and cooperation relations.
Shortly before departing the island, the Salvadoran head of state told the press gathered at Havana´s International Airport that he held a long, fraternal an friendly conversation with Raul Castro, who updated him on the projects undertaken by the Cuban government.
"We addressed the accords reached by government working teams, which are very important for El Salvador because they allow working in areas crucial for social development, such a education, health and the environment," Salvador Sanchez said.
He also announced the signing of an accord with the Cuban Agriculture Ministry aimed at guaranteeing the Salvadoran people basic staples like corn, rice and beans. Another protocol announced by the head of state will allow the Salvadoran health system to directly purchase Cuban pharmaceuticals.
