Venezuela: Parliament Supports Agreement To Repeal US Decree

CARACAS, March 25 (BERNAMA-NNN-AVN) -- Venezuela's National Assembly (AN) has passed an agreement to support the letter sent by President Nicolas Maduro to the United States government to repeal the interventionist decree threatening peace and democracy in Venezuela.

The agreement, proposed by lawmaker Blanca Eekhout representing the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), was approved in ordinary session by the bench of the PSUV and with the dissenting vote of parliamentarians from the coalition of opposition parties MUD, whose deputies refused to sign the document in defense of national sovereignty.

Members of the PSUV, after approval, signed one by one at the parliament's chamber the agreement that supports Venezuela's request to the US government to repeal the decree signed March 9 by US President Barack Obama, which declares Venezuela an "unusual and extraordinary threat" to national security and foreign policy of the North American nation.

Meanwhile, representatives of academic, cultural, student, diplomat circles, international solidarity movements, social media and many citizens of CHINA participated in a special day in BEIJING to gather signatures in support of the global campaign 'Obama repeal the executive decree.'
