Tegucigalpa: A television journalist was fatally shot late on Thursday in front of his home in Honduras, one of the world’s deadliest countries for reporters.
Colleagues of Ramon Fernandez said he was struck by three bullets fired by an unknown assailant, as he arrived at his Islas de la Bahia home after his work at Caribe TV Canal 27.
“Upon arriving at his apartment, Ramon got out of his car,” said co-worker Carlos Gutierrez.
Before reaching the door of his home, Fernandez “was intercepted by a person who fired three times, hitting him once in the head and twice in the throat,” Gutierrez said.
