The mayor of the northwestern Colombian city of Cucuta is facing accusations of sexual harassment and partying with prostitutes.
El Tiempo columnist Salud Hernandez accused mayor of Cucuta, Donamaris Ramirez, of having held a party with several other city officials where some officials were sexually harassed, according to the journalists column on Sunday.
Additionally, Hernandez claimed that prostitutes had been invited to the party. Mayor Ramirez denies the indictments and says he is able to prove the story false.
The mayor has denied the accusations.
It was a totally contrary to how the event was described. I will send videos and pictures with what really happened. I was accompanied by my wife, many children and after Secretarys Day I went with my wife to my home. It is absolutely false that I had any relationship or contact with prostitutes, El Espectador newspaper quoted the mayor as saying.
