Colombias inspector general requests to block proceedings against peace talks hacker
Aug 4, 2014 posted by Tim Hinchliffe
Colombias Inspector General Alejandro Ordoñez has requested to block a lawsuit against the hacker accused of wiretapping the Colombian president and the peace talks between the government and the countrys largest rebel group, the FARC.
At the request of former president and current Senator Alvaro Uribe, Ordoñez requested the halt in proceedings because Uribe didnt trust the handling of the case by Prosecutor General Eduardo Montealagre, Colombias Noticias Uno reported on Sunday.
Uribe asked Ordoñez for special surveillance over the case and requested that he appoint special agents and attorneys to participate in the case against the accused hacker, Andres Sepulveda.
Sepulveda was arrested for spying on behalf of former presidential candidate, Oscar Ivan Zuluaga, who was Uribes choice for president in last Junes elections.
The hacker was accused of spying on President Juan Manuel Santos re-election campaign as well as the peace talks between the FARC and the government in Havana, Cuba.

Clearly the inspector general is taking his orders from the former right-wing president while allegedly required by law to serve in the administration of the sitting President. What a shame.

(160,542 posts)The inspector general would have undoubtedly have joined the choir celestial a very long time ago, as soon as he showed any trace of loyalty to another President's dictates.
Pretty slick of the little creepy Uribe, getting himself elected as a senator, thereby side-stepping prosecution, isn't it?
That's exactly what the evil fascist General Pinochet did after he finally had to face an election and failed to win it. He went where they couldn't get him for a while before fleeing to England.
We remember a lot of Uribe's officials already skipped the country, and some had to be tracked down by Interpol. What a sleazy bunch.
