Victorious over phase one, Venezuelans prepare for next assault revealed in secret documents.

We bring the Axis of Logic community up to date with this report on the status of the February-March 2014 assault on the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the health of the revolution here, vibrant and strong despite a very dangerous and difficult period in our history. Let us begin with an assessment of the opposition political parties and then move on to the defeat of this phase of the crawling coups latest terrorist attacks; finally, we will explain the next strategy, planned by the opposition and their supporters in the US government and Venezuela's preparation to defeat them again as they have in every attempt to overthrow the government over the last 15 years.
Opposition Fractures
Within MUD, the opposition's allied political parties (Mesa de la Unidad Democrática), various political parties are fighting with each other for control. Yesterday, President Maduro said the problems in the Chacao municipality of Caracas during the February-March terrorist assault were organized by Leopoldo Lopez' Voluntad Popular party (PV). Chacao's opposition Mayor Ramón Muchacho is a member of a rival political party, Primero Justicia (PJ). Two other opposition mayors in the country who supported the attacks over the last 2 months have been arrested, jailed and removed from their office by a Supreme Court decision. Yesterday, President Maduro said PV organized the attacks in Chacao to pressure the Supreme Court to arrest Muchacho (PJ) so that they can try taking back control of Chacao in what would then be new elections. This may be the reason why the government has not yet arrested Muchacho for his support of the attacks within his jurisdiction.
Government's defeat of Phase I of the 2014 coup
It appears the government has reduced the terrorist assault to very few sporadic attacks and has all but eliminated the guarimbas, gaining control of and cleaning up the streets in Chacao & Baruta in Caracas, Valencia, Merida and San Cristobal.
On Thursday, April 3, the Venezuelan military defeated Colombian paramilitaries in Tachira, captured 14 and killed one of them, William Molina. National radio reports some of those captured are giving up information on their recruiters and funding sources in interviews being carried out by the Bolivarian Intelligence Service (SEBIN).
On Friday, April 4: Diosdado Cabello, President of Venezuela's National Assembly (AN), announced that the reform of the Anti-Terrorism Law was submitted to the National Assembly, following the firebombing of the headquarters of the Ministry of Popular Power for Housing and Habitat in Chacao where 89 pre-school children were rescued by the troops and firemen. This ministry carries out the work of Gran Misión Vivienda (Great Housing Mission Venezuela), created by President Chavez.

It does not surprise me in the least, Judy, that you rely on them so heavily for cites.
Bloody lunatics.

Right under your own nose and yet you can't smell them. So you go off on attacking another country? Makes no sense and you are again embarrassing yourself, Flats.

Yeah, "secret documents."

Perhaps secession is a good idea. People shouldn't be forced to live under a political system that they despise. Let them leave to live the way they want to live.

(24,010 posts)...who were funded/organized out of the U.S. (Bush Junta) embassy in Bolivia, in 2008, and who wanted to split Bolivia in two--taking Bolivia's main gas reserves with them--and live in their own white 'apartheid' state with the brown 'natives' as their slaves?
What did you think of South America's defeat of that white separatist 'secession'--perhaps the most important event in Latin America in the last hundred years (besides the Venezuelans' defeat of the U.S. supported coup d'etat in 2002)? Really, what did you think of it? The white separatists should have their own state?
Or maybe what you believe in is each man with a gun is his own state? How far would you go in defiance of a civilized life of cooperation, tolerance, democracy and fairness (rule of law, rather rule of raw 'individualistic' power)?
'Secession' organized by the U.S. "military-industrial complex" is NOT "a good idea."

Political system.
Political system.
Political system.
Political system.
Of course, you would obviously prefer that each LA country still be a colony of a European power, because, you know, going your own way and such is *always* a terrible idea.
See how that twisting thing works?
I would rather leave or die than live under a political system based on Marxism. Obviously, many brave Venezuelans have been, and are making, that very decision as we speak. They will not live under a collectivist system.
Your mileage may vary.
Without secession, most of the countries in the world today would not exist.

That's quite amusing, assuming that we're still talking about VZ. How dare you mention the 'rule of law' when talking about the murder capital of the world. How dare you talk about tolerance when dissenters are being shot and terrorized by red-shirted thugs and the state forces for daring to have an opinion. How dare you talk about cooperation when opposition politicians and leaders are being thrown in jail and denied their elected seats.
What a shiny coil of steaming shit.
Let's cut the bullshit. Every Marxist revolution accomplishes it's goals by the application of brute force. It has always been this way, and it will always be so. You smugly take the moral high ground in denouncing the rule of the gun, yet that's exactly where the latest socialist paradise is right now. They're currently in the 'purging of the Undesirables' phase, and are borderline into the 'genocide of the undesirables' phase.
So spare me and the rest of us the smug crap about peace and love and cooperation, when we all know it really is 'peace and love and cooperation, or we're going to fucking kill you'.

Replace Venezuela with US and then read Flat's rant again and you'll see the one sided rant... It is embarrassing that Flat's has the gall to rant like that.

If you take the time to notice, it's only right-wingers who won't control themselves. They are angry because they've gone to the wrong message board and don't know where to go, even though we could tell them.

Not taking sides here... just making a point.
If you're going to accuse someone of making offensive statements against someone, please at least know what that looks like.
For example, saying "So and so is a douche waffle" is a targeted and personally offensive statement. "I can't stand douche waffles" is not... even implications often don't qualify as a personally offensive statement.

Greed does crazy things to people who are congenitally twisted themselves. Interesting to know it both groups were exactly the same kind of European descended Latin Americans who despise the poor, and specifically the indigenous and African descended.

(160,598 posts)Are you saying democracy isn't your preference?
The oligarchy should NOT get the idea it can hijack the entire country. The country has been through that, already, and that's why it keeps electing non-oligarchy leaders.
You don't conspire to steal the country from the people who already live there, and elect their own leaders.

(5,005 posts)to deliver the benefits that it promised, the citizenry have the right to make changes to that system or throw it out altogether. Our first constitution didn't take, if you recall. It was too weak.
But if the polarity within a country is so great that civil war could break out (not saying this is the case for VZ) sometimes the answer is for the differing factions to go their own way, without bloodshed. It's certainly not without precedent. Ethnic Russians in Crimea (90% of the pop) just voted to secede from Ukraine. Should Ukraine kill them all to stop it?
