And this is what happens when the capital city votes against the government in Venezuela

They name their guy - you know, the one who just lost the election the day before - "Minister for the Transformation of Caracas"... just in case you didn't want him to be your Mayor!

Now they'll do as they have always done: they'll take the money from the hands of the guy people voted and give it to the guy who lost the election (check Elias Jaua in Miranda state).

How honorable, right?

Article in Spanish

Villegas es el nuevo ministro de Estado para la Transformación de Caracas

El presidente Nicolás Maduro indicó que el excandidato por la alcaldía Metropolitana también asumirá la jefatura de proyectos especiales presidenciales.

Wonder if they had lost the presidential election they would've created like a "prime minister" position to run along with president.

First, the treasury and the wealth of the productive class must be taken and handed out to the poor to buy their loyalty. This has the added benefit of making them permanently dependent on the state, since no one will bite the hand that feeds them. They'll be happy enough with shitty food, shitty housing, and shitty everything as long as you can keep them alive at least a tick above abject poverty levels and continually vilify those who make their existences possible.

Second, all kinds of political skulduggery is used to place cronies, stooges and useful idiots into positions of power, by whatever means necessary.

Third, a common enemy must be blamed for every failing of the state. Saboteurs, traitors, foreigners, you'll hear these words tossed around a lot.

It's an old play book, and the process never changes, except that with modern technology, more useful idiots will take to the interwebs to sing the praises of the revolution.
