Vamos a quebrar (la) economía de USA.
Asimismo, Varela hizo un llamado a los venezolanos y demás ciudadanos del mundo: Cancelen sus cuentas en facebook ya que sin saberlo han trabajado gratis como informantes de la CIA. Revisen caso Snowden.
Translation: The Ministress for Penitentiary Matters, Iris Varela, stated this Wednesday that "countries and people victims of 'gringo' espionage must sue the United States". In this sense, she highlight in her Twitter account @irisvarela that they must demand a "just compensation for this act. Let's break the US economy"
She also called for all Venezuelans and other citizens of the world to "cancel your Facebook accounts since you unknowingly have been working free as informants for the CIA. Look at the Snowden case".
So, wait, doesn't she realize that most of the CIA/NSA espionage victims are Americans themselves? And yet she called to "break the Us economy"? Why should the people suffer for something their government did? She kinda also fails to realize that most countries in the world, including Venezuela itself and its precious allies Russia and China, are also guilty of spying on their citizens, maybe even more so than the US itself. Hell, Hell, the Venezuelan government is even proud to present that they have been themselves spying, especially when it concerns an opposition congresswoman (which was very poorly edited and does not really say anything that reveals something big, unlike Mario Silva's audio, which pretty much everyone has agreed on that is real, enough even to have his TV program "La Hojilla" pulled off the air right after the audio was published).

(14,255 posts)South American country that refuses to extradite Snowden. So - same idea, both sides.
Somehow I doubt Venezuela can "break" the US economy.
We may do that ourselves, with trade pacts and austerity and slashed social programs and joblessness and poverty and hideously expensive health care, thankyewverymuch.

(2,035 posts)Sure, let's break the most powerful economy in the world. I'm sure that's gonna work out GREAT for everyone! Especially for Venezuela, whose primary oil buyer is the US. GENIUS!

(1,016 posts)Same way the Pakistan politicians complaining about the drones, but in reality support the killing of their radicals. GOP going on about cutting government spending but then passing the Farm give away bill.
It is just politics 101

(770 posts)She likes to mouth off and forgets a USA break of commerce and follow up embargo would collapse Venezuela like a rotten tree. Obama is plenty smart and won't pay attention to Venezuelan rants, I think he just plans to sit and wait. But Varela's comments just cost her government a few tens of millions of USD...everytime one of them raises tensions Venezuelan bonds lose value.
