"If Capriles doesn't resume his Governor duties and put it in writing that he is resuming his duties as Governor, we are not going to recognize him and we will declare him in abandonment of his duties, because unless this is formalized in writing, this Legislative Council, composed mostly Socialists, will not recognize him as Governor of Miranda ".
This was announced by the President of the Legislative Council of Miranda, Aurora Morales, on Wednesday, saying Henrique Capriles must resume his duties as Governor of Miranda and formalize his return in writing to the regional parliament or he will be declared "absolutely absent" (ausencia).
A group of mirandinos protested on Wednesday against the Governor of Miranda to demand the resignation of former presidential candidate Henrique Capriles, who had applied for a permit as governor of that state, to participate in the elections.
On Tuesday Socialist bloc deputies made a public appeal to Capriles through the media and he was given 24 hours to resume his duties as governor.

(The permission Capriles had requested to temporarily leave the Governor position expired on Sunday)
How ironic. And to think Capriles tried to nail Chavez with "ausencia" for not returning from Cuba to be sworn in.

Chavez would have given anything to be able to go to his job at the time Capriles was trying to knife him in the back.
Hasta la bye-bye, Capriles. Say "hello" to Miranda.

... Jose Osio, a tour guide and government supporter, told Al Jazeera, echoing Maduro's statements. "When Capriles won the election for Miranda state governor, he won by just 30,000 votes. Authorities used the same equipment for that vote. The guy just isn't humble enough to recognise he lost."

I think that's where he's been hanging out lately.

(160,530 posts)5. Absolutely! Has he even been to Miranda in the last year?
I guess he expects the citizens to pay his handsome salary while he took a year off for campaigning.
Upper East Side, having a nice stay with family was where he wanted to spend his time waiting for Hugo Chavez to die.
What a waste of skin.
