Venezuelan leader says foes sabotaging power grid

http://news.yahoo.com/venezuelan-leader-says-foes-sabotaging-214139759.html;_ylt=A2KJ2Pa3WV5RDWsA0NXQtDMD

Interim President Nicolas Maduro on Thursday charged that allies of Venezuela's opposition are sabotaging the country's power grid ahead of this month's presidential election.

----------
Maduro's statements came a day after outages knocked out power in central Aragua state and several districts of Caracas, Venezuela's capital.

----------------
Despite billions of dollars of investment over the last decade, regions throughout this oil-rich South American country have struggled with blackouts in recent years.

------------.
"Electricity consumption has increased as the population has increased and there has not been sufficient investment," said Solorzano, a member of Capriles' campaign staff. "Instead of resolving the problem, he's is lying and trying to fool the people."

He's even blaming the power company EMPLOYEES for being pro-opposition! Never mind that there's been insufficient money and attention provided towards maintenance and repair...

Shades of Ari Fleischer...."Yer either with us, or against us!!! Grrrr!!! Grrr!!!"

but like I said, he has no shame!

Odds are very likely that Maduro will win, so the stupid rhetoric just doesn't make any sense. That said, I think the party's almost over. Something's gotta give--they can't keep propping up Cuba and ignoring their own issues.

I expect after the election the blame will turn from the opposition to the US once again. Anyway, Capriles is a young man. Politically its probably best that the chavistas win again given downward spiral at this point.
