NY Primary Can't Come Soon Enough For This Hillary Supporter

Because it is getting downright ugly, disgusting and delusional "over there."

Time to wrap up this nomination and move on to better and more-productive uses of our collective energy.

A long time friend of mine has fallen off the deep end. She believes every time BS loses it is a huge Hillary/Democratic Party conspiracy. I tried to talk to her yesterday and she went completely nuts on me. Called me a "so called Democrat" a DINO and a few other things. We have worked side by side for the party for the past 10 years. Makes me sad, it is like she joined a cult.

They are relying on impossible odds to win. They don't care about math, or reality.

I don't see NY changing anything. Sanders already said that they can win without NY.

will vote for Hillary just to be on the winning side.

Hell, I knew people out here who voted for Ah-nold because they thought it would be neat to have his governor's signature on their driver's license, even though the governor's signature isn't on the CA driver's license.

You can't argue with that kind of delusional thinking.

This is all Sanders fault. His followers will believe anything he says.

And I'm thinking that the reason there wasn't the contention may be the simple fact that all of the candidates in 2008 were actual Democrats.

As much as I know that independents are a vital part of winning the GE, that doesn't mean we turn control of the party over to them. Same thing with young voters. "They're the future, blah blah blah," but that doesn't mean we let them make major decisions NOW. If they really are the future, then that's when they can make these decisions.

We're not a party for nothing, and personally I don't believe that many Sanders supporters genuinely share a majority of common goals with the Democratic Party. I think many are single-issue voters, and Sanders' poll-tested policies positions managed to rustle a good number of single issues together to appeal to a larger number of them. But these folks are not Democrats, no matter how much they want to pretend. If they were real Democrats, Bernie's candidacy wouldn't be the only thing drawing them to the polls.

Clinton supporters are The Base of the Democratic Party. Not progressives, not leftists, not hippies (classic or neo). We, the people who vote in every election, who vote for all of our candidates, and who actually stand against the Republicans, are the ones to whom this party belongs.

They'll still insist he can win 60% of the remaining delegates.

Then after PA and MD, they will be convinced he can win 65% of the delegates.

Then they'll say that even though he doesn't have the most delegates or votes that the supers should vote for Sanders (I-VT) because he has so much enthusiasm and is the only one who can beat Trump or Cruz.

Then when you point out that any Dem will beat the crap out of Trump or Cruz they will say that if the Democratic Party comes to its senses and wants to retain its soul then they will realize that Sanders (I-VT) MUST be the nominee.

Then when he doesn't get the nomination they will insist it is due to dirty tricks and push for an independent run from Sanders (I-VT).

Then when he refuses to do that and endorses Clinton they will push for a write-in campaign for Sanders (I-VT).

It's just going to get uglier as they try to deal with the cognitive dissonance.

Much purging of angry Sanders (I-VT) supporters will have to ensue, I'm afraid.

He said he waited a month before asking his supporters to switch because he gave them time to cool down. The media will be all over Bernie asking when he will speak to his supporters about supporting Hillary and he will likely go off on them.
