I laughed myself sick watching this last night.

The Monday edition of Full Frontal With Samantha Bee took aim at the "Superdelegate Hit List," a supposed effort by supporters of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders to pressure superdelegates pledged to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton into flipping their votes.
According to Bee's explanation of the superdelegate system, Sanders supporters have it all wrong.
"Cool the harassment these aren't female gamers," Bee began. "Do you even know what superdelegates are? I didn't. That's why we had to go away for two weeks."
"First of all, political parties aren't the government," she explained. "They're semi-private clubs. If they wanted, they could use a sorting hat to pick their nominees. Gah, Slytherin!"

(1,359 posts)Not because harassing female gamers is cool, no. But because the tactics of some of the Bernie supporters bear an uncomfortable likeness to those of a certain group that was adept at pretending concern over ethics in gaming journalism.

(11,028 posts)The idea that someone on a left-wing (not to mention Democratic) website would support Gamergate was shocking to say the least. But then I have seen a left-wing commentator, whose youtube videos were posted here regularly, support the GGers as well.

(24,396 posts)All the carping about the way both parties select their candidates being "undemocratic" misses the boat. They are NOT democratic entities ruled by democratic processes. They are basically private clubs who can do whatever they want when it comes to how they select their candidates.
The fact that non-affiliated voters are given ANY say in the selection of candidates for a political party is nuts. I wish the Ds would go to an entirely closed primary system. You want a say? Then join the party.
