Bernie Sanders who is winning delegate contests against Hillary Clinton but not catching up much in terms of actual delegates insists he has a path to the Democratic presidential nomination, starting with primaries in New York and Pennsylvania.
"We believe that we have the momentum," Sanders said Sunday on ABC's This Week. "We believe that the polling is showing that we're closing the gap."
The Vermont senator toured a string of Sunday shows a day after beating Clinton by double digits in the Wyoming caucuses though Clinton will wind up with more convention delegates thanks to "superdelegates" who can back any candidate they want.
Speaking on NBC's Meet The Press, Sanders said he has cut Clinton's lead by one-third in recent weeks, won eight of the last nine delegate contests, and is moving up in national polls against both Clinton and potential Republican opponents.

(5,624 posts)I've put that off as long as I could. Wish we could do more.
I have thought of doing some Hillary buttons/magnets and sell them for a bit more than my supplies in hopes I could give more. Noone around me is a Dem..... so not sure how I could sell them. Maybe I should just figure out another theme then politics and it wouldn't matter. Maybe goofy pet stuff sayings or something.

(7,143 posts)Been practicing it all of his adult life.
Look at the money that pours his way and the explanations: He won something. He lost something. Someone said something nice about him. Someone said something mean about him. He's losing. He's winning. The media's ignoring him. The media's finally paying attention to him.
His supporters are fish and he's trained them to eat anything.

(1,630 posts)is anything like his judgment on the issues, we will have truly dodged a bullet by electing Hillary. Isn't it a reflection of their characters that, even when Hillary is 2.5 MILLION people ahead, she is optimistic but not showboating and Bernie is proclaiming, "We've got a path to victory!"? I wish he would take all that money he keeps raking in and give it to people who actually need it.

(11,586 posts)What else would he do? He could write a book, but we already know what he would say pretty much word for word, so why buy it? He could go back to folk singing/rapping, but he was terrible. Pretty much the only thing that would be open to him is to play a living version of the old man muppet in the theatre box (along with Larry David) on SNL.

(50,942 posts)Sanders would need over 59% of the remaining pledged delegates instead of over 56.6%.
Sure he has reduce the lead by a bit but not as much as he had hoped considering he didn't meet the target.
For some reason he thinks he won 8 of the last 9. That is an odd selection for him to use. So which of the first of nine is he including? From March 22 to April 9 there were 8 contests starting with Arizona and ending with Wyoming. The contests immediately preceding Arizona were held on March 15th and included Florida, Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio. Which of those is included in the last 9? Why would he include any of them when Clinton won 4 of the 5 and the 5th was a tie.
Is he trying to confuse people?
