There can be no peace among liberals until Bernie Sanders drops out of the race

Back on March 15th, when Hillary Clinton pulled ahead by hundreds of delegates and millions of votes and nailed down the Democratic Party nomination, I was the first to begin speaking of unity on the left, common ground, and inclusiveness for those who had supported Bernie Sanders and his ideas. It was time to move forward, right then and there, with whatever unified front we could come together and come up with. That day should have been the turning point for liberals. Instead it’s being remembered as the day that Bernie decided to set himself on fire instead admitting he’d lost fair and square.

Bernie did something shocking that day: he not only decided to remain in a race he’d already lost, he began lying to his supporters about his mathematical position in the race so they’d stay with him. But he did something even worse than simply selling his supporters on fake math and fake numbers. He began selling them on fake conspiracies. He claimed he was only “behind” due to superdelegates, even though he was (and still is) behind by millions of votes. He claimed he could catch up by using states like California, even though any calculator will tell you he’d need way more than a hundred percent of the vote there. He’s doing what candidates unfortunately do when they can’t admit they’ve lost – and he’s making a mess that everyone else is struggling to try to figure out how to resolve.

March 15. But no. He doesn't care about the Democratic Party nor defeating the Republican Party in November. He's going to campaign and try and damage the Democratic Party as much as he can before he's forced to step out - without a concession, of course. And the Paulites, Naderites, Repubs, and other fringe voters supporting him will cheer him on while the Republican power-brokers, the very ones he has his followers believe are evil, will smile in approval.

enormous ego and damn the consequences. The parallels between him and Trump are disquieting at best.

I don't trust him one iota. He's so erratic and emotionally unstable that he'll listen to the next Hartmann or Uygur who eggs him on to the bitter, mutually destructive end-game.

but few people make political decisions based on math. He and his supporters truly believe he can surge in upcoming primaries and flip Super Delegates. Hillary needs to win big in NY.

Won't help unify the party either: how can he support her in the end if she's unqualified and now he has doubts about what kind of president she'll be? Keep it up Bernie: not one SD will ever cross over to you.

She's staying positive and should stay that way...let him look like a crank. And all the talk of needing his supporters: the ones who are true Dem will support her: the new ones won't and they wouldn't have voted anyway (if not for BS) so won't make a difference...
