Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri), a Clinton surrogate, says hearing Bernie Sanders call Hillary Clinton unqualified for the presidency is "like fingernails on a black board" to women voters. McCaskill on Thursday's Andrea Mitchell Reports, via MSNBC:
ANDREA MITCHELL, MSNBC HOST: And joining me now from Washington, from Capitol Hill, Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill. She's endorsed Hillary Clinton for president.
Senator, you've worked with both of the -- both Senator Clinton, obviously, when she's in the Senate and have known Bernie Sanders for a long time. What is going on here?
SEN. CLAIRE MCCASKILL (D), MISSOURI: I'm not sure. I'm a little worried about it. I mean, come on. Of course, Hillary Clinton is qualified. I don't know why Bernie went there, especially if you watch the interview that Hillary Clinton did, the people interviewing her tried to get her to say that Bernie wasn't qualified and she refused to say it. She ultimately said the voters have to decide.
And so I'm worried because we've got real work to do in November and we've got to stay united. What we agree on is so important to our country. So I just hope that we don't go there. The Republicans need to do the playground juvenile attacks, negative campaigns. We need to stay on the (TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES) high road.
MCCASKILL: -- in this race and his supporters are passionate for a good reason. And I think that all of us are reluctant to say to Bernie Sanders and his supporters that the math doesn't work. I think this will take care of itself as long as the campaigns stay by and large very positive about the things we agree on and don't go into negative attacks. And calling Hillary Clinton not qualified is like fingernails on a black board to many women across this country, and I think Bernie probably knows that.

(2,479 posts)This "list" of things that would make her unqualified, in Sanders' opinion, is a response. She'd gone on Morning Republican, with Joe Scar, and he'd asked "Do you think Sanders is qualified to be president." She preceded to list all the ways she thought Sanders was not qualified. Did she come out and say the actual words? I don't know.
And for the record, her saying he wasn't qualified, is like fingernails scraping along a blackboard, or hell, let's go with Sarah Palin's shrieking voice. Was that sexist? Hell I don't know, but I do know a bunch of Hillary supporters listen to pro-Hillary Stephanie Miller Show each morning, when they all enjoy a great laugh listening to the piercing rantings and ravings of Palin.
So again, to be clear--this was a response, to what she said, in calling him unqualified. And clearly she was, or why would you list the things you think makes him unqualified.

All it takes is a few seconds of reading/watching and you would know that she didn't.

(22,144 posts)obviously that is true. He cannot defend his views and give solutions. In other words, he doesn't know WTF he's talking about. Is he qualified to make Presidential decisions when he can't explain his own platform?
Think about that for a moment.

(20,136 posts)Sanders and his fans do, however, consider Hillary Clinton -- former secretary of state and Senator for a combined 12 years -- to be "unqualified".

(13,218 posts)Clearly a lie. Or maybe only stupid (but still false). It irritates me, a male, almost as much as it irritates women. Because it's a direct insult to my intellect. They must really thing I'm stupid.

(30,058 posts)Interview. Even for those who are not into political positions realized he failed to show he was capable during the Interview. This is on Sanders, he owns his interview. All the RW talking points, will not change this.
