Sanders: Losing loved ones at Sandy Hook is as bad as losing your job

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/race-for-the-white-house-shifts-to-new-york/

So what does Sanders say to the Sandy Hook families who say he should apologize for his position?

"Well I would say that I think that it is -- we all area aware of what happened in Sandy Hook is a tragedy beyond comprehension," he said. "But maybe Secretary Clinton might want to apologize to the families who lost their loved ones in Iraq or Secretary Clinton might want to apologize to the millions of workers in this country who lost their jobs because of the disastrous trade agreements that she supported."

To bad you lost your kids, but more important to me is smearing Clinton, is what he is saying.

It is so obvious that he doesn't want to actually respond to people. He only has his set of stump speech parts that he trots out where he thinks he can use it, without any thought to the person he's talking to. It is positively indecent and makes him not fit to be President at all.

Cannot even imagine him comforting anyone after a tragedy. I can hear it now: Sorry for your loss, but what about Wall Street?".

Typical Sanders fashion when he doesn't have a good response, he resorts to some smart ass comment.

It's why they do the big rallies, because then they can keep him from actually talking to people. The illusion is completely broken when he does - he doesn't know how to talk to other people, or even listen to them. Who was it who said - I don't know many people who've had conversations with Bernie Sanders, but I know plenty who have been lectured by him?

On the other hand, Hillary is the queen of meeting people in small groups. She went on listening tours both when she campaigned for Senate and for the Presidency. She wants to hear what people have to say, so that she can tailor her policies to what the problems of people are. They are always so impressed with her when they meet her - her warmth, her humor, her knowledge. She is revealed to be more when seen up close. Bernie is just revealed to be an empty suit when he's met up close.

I am a lifelong Democratic Party member. Have been there through the Dukakis election and the Clinton presidency. Frankly, I cannot stomach this man. He is the epitome of Trump from the far left. Full of ideological pronunciations with little to no detail to back up his policy. I look at this reply and realize he cannot defend his position so he resorts to ad hominem attacks.

Between the Amber Alert vote and this, I don't think he cares about small children much. They can't vote or text him $27.

one's spouse/loved one is exactly like losing a job. Bernie's remark shows a total lack of empathy.

One can find another job. Yes, it is shattering to lose a job, especially a job one loves. And it is more difficult today to find something comparable, so it might literally mean that the whole family suffers because basic needs cannot be met. That is devastating and should not be minimized nor dismissed.

But a job is not a living human being who has been shot dead because some a**h*** was able to get an automatic weapon. Rinse. Repeat.

False equivalencies indeed. Tone-deafness everywhere.

First off, the Daily News put that cover out, not Hillary...and in the last debate, the moderator asked about this lawsuit and that's when his initial unempathetic response came out: didn't really mention the tragedy, just that gun manufacturers shouldn't be sued... At least state that these poor parents have the right to sue, not dismiss them totally.

Second: his comments sound childish...well if I have to apologize, then Hillary should too, but for totally unrelated subjects... Doesn't make sense... I think Hillary is doing well by just "keeping on" and sticking to positive issues. The media is taking this to him so let's see how many Bernie buttons can be pushed? He's already a cranky old man...not sure this will be a pretty picture and let this build for next Thurs' debate...
