THIS close.

I had "I rescind my pledge to vote for Bernie if he is the nominee" in the subject line, and I had a rather long and elaborate post body to go with it. The post was spellchecked. The add to my journal box was checked. The pointer was over the button, and my finger was putting pressure on the mouse button.

I came THIS close to pushing it.

You can thank my guinea pig that I didn't; she chose that moment, a moment of hesitation while nerving myself up for it, to do something amusing in her cage. I came to my senses, remembered the situation, thought it through, and deleted my post.

God it sucks having two brain cells to rub together.

I'll tell you what, though: any Democrat, Green, or progressive independent who runs against Bernie in Vermont in 2018, they're getting a LOT of money from me.

I would have to think long and hard before I could ever consider voting for Sanders now.

I'm with you about Sanders' opponents in the future.

that is keeping me anywhere near sane in this election.

But I'm definitely with Chichiri on the 2018 election, if Bernie does have a non-GOPer challenger.

That and the NRA ran attack ads against his GOP opponent.

He owes Dems a lot...and this is how he repays us: calls our thoroughly qualified female front-runner "unqualified" and says there's no difference between the parties.

But the NRA was rewarded. Bernie voted against the Brady Bill 5 times as spoon as he got into Congress, and voted yes on the NRA's most cherished pice of legislation: the PLCAA, which gave special immunities to gun manufacturers.

I used to like Bernie--I liked Hillary a lot more, and she got my vote in the primary. I plan on working for her in the fall, but also have said many times that I will go to the mat for the Democratic presidential nominee. At this point, I have gotten so sick of the nasty attacks from the Bernie supporters and for Bernie's own clueless comments that I struggle to make my "go to the mat" comment. Hillary needs to kick butt in NY and PA and send the Bern back home to Vermont.

I would have hated to see you get a hide - and you can be sure a swarm would have been all over you for that.

As Cha says, he will not be the Dem candidate, so there will be no dilemma for us.

As for 2018, I will be following your example.

Because he will never be the nominee!

This farce of a race needs to end soon because we are wasting money on this non-Dem.
