There's a lot of spin in Hillary Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook's Medium post "To Hillary Clinton supporters: The facts on where the race stands." Such as: "Hillary Clinton is the only candidate tough enough to beat Donald Trump." Um, okay?
But there's a paragraph in Mook's missive that is critically important -- particularly given that Bernie Sanders may well win the Wisconsin primary tonight, making it seven wins for the Vermont socialist in the last eight contests. Here it is:
Hillary Clinton has a lead of nearly 230 pledged delegates and with each passing week, its becoming increasingly unlikely that Senator Sanders will be able to catch up. In order to do so, Sanders has to win the four remaining delegate-rich primaries New York, Pennsylvania, California, and New Jersey with roughly 60 percent of the vote. To put that in perspective: Sanders has thus far won only two primaries with that margin: Vermont and New Hampshire. Needless to say, the size and demographic makeups of New York, Pennsylvania, California, and New Jersey are decidedly different than Vermont and New Hampshire. And these figures dont even include superdelegates, where Clinton has an overwhelming lead.

As near as I can figure, they are all using Common Core math or something.

(24,397 posts)He is not looking good in any of these recent interviews he's done. The very premise of his "pure" candidacy is being challenged with the tax return debacle, while the fact that he can provide no detail at all on his grand plans for healthcare etc is having the effect of his "vision" being exposed for the empty sloganeering that it is.
No matter what the outcome in WI, Sanders will be facing increased scrutiny going forward. Every dip in the polls will be attributed to the vetting process, and that voters aren't liking what they're NOT hearing from Sanders. Trump is going through the same process. Interesting.
Hillary has been so dissected over the decades that there's no new vetting to take place on her account. Her role in all this will be to answer the inevitable question, "what do you think of Sanders's latest problems?"

(24,397 posts)the blood is already in the water.
Reporters will go after this, if for no other reason than the fact that they're all just as bored with Bernie's stump speech as everyone else.
