Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumIt is not my goal to set off Bernie supporters but I cannot state my opinion without doing so
What is my opinion that invariably elicits some kind of criticism of me, personally? My opinion that invariably elicits some kind of criticism of me, personally, is that Hillary Clinton will be our nominee, based on all relevant data.
I'm not rubbing anything in. I am not saying anything bad about Bernie Sanders, and unlike some others I don't have anything bad to say about him. I just don't see that he has any realistic path to the nomination and stating this opinion here at DU has elicited all kinds of malicious nonsense.
Of course this is not news, but as time goes by the reality of these "emoprogs" sets in further. They are insecure. Their attacks against me reflect their own neurosis, or worse. I am glad that they are marginal. We don't need them and clearly that fact bothers them a lot. I don't say that with any particular glee, but rather as a relief of sorts. There is no way to satisfy them, like there is no way to satisfy the radical. How blessed are we to not need them?

(11,588 posts)Of course some of us do deliberately push a button or two, but not with lies. Seems incredibly easy to do, and fun to disrupt the beehive

(2,405 posts)They criticize me personally too. Especially when I am saying good things about Hillary and nothing bad about Bernie. Your post is right on point.
As I said above I posted it as an attempt to sort things out. It is a theory.

We don't need them and we might not even want them. I don't see any reason to talk about unity with them. Their Clay Footed God will fall in line but they probably never will. We didn't lose them, they were never part of the party and, like their leader, are more interested in destroying it than fight off the GOP.

(9,494 posts)That's why I don't argue with them and I never have alerted on any of their silly posts. They are completely unimportant in the real world. It's fun to laugh at them and poke around a little but I can't take them seriously.
But I do periodically interact with them, as I was just a short time before my opening post, and I find that no matter how well I keep my composure the exposure to their childish games diminishes me in some way. So, Walk away, thank you for being an adult and lifting me back into sober reality.

One cannot negotiate or have a rational discussion with true believers.
It is my opinion that most Bernie supporters are not true believers and they will come to support Hillary at a time they decide.
I was on of the last people still posting at the Howard Dean forum until someone turned off the lights there in early summer of 2004. I got to see lots of self proclaimed Deaniacs, people who said it was Dean or nobody, just disappear or announce that they were leaving for the Kerry or Edwards forum and were going to support either of the two. The same will happen here.
