On my first trip to Iowa this year, I pledged to be a champion for all Iowans — from cities like Davenport, Cedar Rapids, and Des Moines to small towns and rural communities like Norwalk, Monticello, and LeClaire. It’s not enough for Iowans to just get by, you deserve to be able to get ahead and stay ahead. To make that possible across Iowa and across America, we’re going to have to work together to build an economy for tomorrow, not yesterday.

I know things are sensitive right now, so I wasn't sure if the joke would go over well. For the record, I am a Bernie supporter at the moment, but I will not take cheap shots at any of the democratic candidates. The GOP is the real enemy.

finances are lightening up, so I should be able to swing a star pretty soon. MIRTs see some ugly stuff as you know, but I think of it as kind of a civic duty. Over the years, this place has really helped change the way I think about a lot of things.
