Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumLet's have some fun! Hypothetical question. (Hillary GROUP)
We've heard some names being floated around as potential Supreme Court nominees by President Obama. Of the nominee's mentioned, who do you think our next President, President Hillary Clinton would select?

(2,550 posts)When it's up to Hillary, I think she might go with another woman. Not trying to ruffle feathers but Ruth is no spring chicken and it'd be easier to get a woman on there when elected, rather than waiting.
I do not know which woman.

(5,044 posts)I think she would chose someone who will best exemplify her jurisprudence, male or female. However, I do not think Hillary will back away from nominating a woman, just because she is. No way-no how.
Best to you metroins, have a great weekend!

(40,416 posts)A SCOTUS nomination takes time even in the best of times. I remember one, Harriet Miers, which was pretty quick, and equally quickly cast away.
I prefer the more deliberative approach.
As the Zen Master wisely said, "We'll see."

(40,416 posts)This is one helluva film, and a truly great end to Mike Nichols' career.
Charlie Wilson's War is one of the best films ever. Remarkably, it is a true story.
And yup, that is Julia Roberts, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Tom Hanks. And yup, Hoffman thoroughly chews the scenery. That's the only way one rises above Charlie Wilson, played by Hanks.

And I don't know enough about all the people you listed to have a choice, but I'll happily kick this!

(50,560 posts)Among his greatest hits: he was the first judge to strike down an ag-gag law, and he struck down an anti-Occupy ordinance. He also mandated grazing permits take into account sage grouse protection. President Clinton installed him onto the federal bench, and the wingers out here HATE the guy with a passion.

(5,044 posts)This guy is a winner for sure! All of our handwork is going to pay off, fixing the judiciary is essential to lasting change. When I hear people complain that Potus has not done enough, .
These challenges that we face will take far more than one President to face. We're well on our way, we keep the executive branch for the next eight years, take back the senate and we will surely be on the road to political recovery.
Best to you, jmowreader!

(5,044 posts)He absolutely should be on the federal bench, what the GOP did to him and Caitlyn Halligan was beyond ridiculous. I'd like to both of their names back in the mix!
