Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumWhat does it say when Bernie's supporters are reduced to being fashion critics ...
... with regard to Hillary's outfits (or "costume" as one supporter put it.)
Personally, I find it quite amusing that some think that Hillary's "big pockets" are to be seen as some sort of metaphor that are (presumably) making a subliminal statement about her.
Edit: Are Hillary's fashion choices "fair game"? Are such things relevant? Would she also be criticized if she donned the same dark blazer (with a hint of varying color in her blouses) in the same way that Rachel Maddow does?
Note to Jury: No candidate or candidate's supporters were smeared or called out by name. This post contains my opinions and observations. The alerter's opinion may differ from mine, but having a different opinion is not against the rules. This was posted in the Hillary Group.

(297,503 posts)are at it again.. and the same thing goes.. They're desperate for something to criticize because they have nothing of substance.
Where as we don't have to talk about sanders' clothes.. he has plenty of real issues.

(6,444 posts)physically and emotionally. I spent a year in Saudi Arabia in 2012-3 and saw the extreme of this. Even the abayas and face coverings had to be perfect and women compared themselves with each other; who was more virtuous and covered themselves the most, the best. The more virtuous women never spoke in public with men around because even their voice was considered giving away too much. They also wore gloves and covered their feet completely. Most women wore sandals, but not these virtuous creatures.
HRC has always been especially criticized in all regards since she appeared in the public arena. Another reason I admire her. She looks fine and conducts herself just fine, thank you.
edit: forgot, the extra virtuous Saudi women also wore sunglasses on top of the niquab!

They've run out of policy issues to talk about (mostly because she's on the correct side of most) so now he clothes seem to be fair game.

(297,503 posts)the debates, too.
Not sure which one it was.. but remember the big stupid "bathrobe" thread?
Hillary is so attractive and precious.. she could actually look good in a bathrobe on national tv.
That reminds me of the time she came back late from the break and they were all making insulting comments about that.
She came on stage and said "I'm sorry". It was adorable.
Oh yeah that was the same time as the "bathrobe"...

(67,782 posts)....many of them realize that she's on the correct side of the issues and they've run out of substantive things to criticize her for, so now its her clothing and pee breaks.

MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell : "One of the trickier things to teach people about public speaking is that the microphone works, you don't have to actually yell,".
"When you're going up every octave with every word, people are like, I have to get some popcorn and get away from this," former RNC chair Michael Steele said. "You'd think after all the years, she would figure that out."
The former secretary of state's speaking voice has long been a topic of conversation. Various pundits... have referred to her voice as "unpleasant," "unrelaxed" and "bitter."

(15,696 posts)For example, the rules of the senate that requires all senators to wear suit jackets also applies to women. Debbie Stabenow told me that at breakfast during a campaign. Thus, the explanation for the pantsuit that is so common among women in DC.
When we women teachers, lawyers, and biz workers were finally allowed to wear pants, our crotches had to be covered. I KID YOU NOT. It was the 70's, and women were being ridiculed for wanting to be called Ms. instead of Mrs.
So keep making fun of Clinton's clothes, BSers. It tells us who you really are and how little respect you appear to have for anyone who dares to work within the system to change it.
