Throwing African-American voters under the bus (Hillary Group)

Just saw a thread titled "Here's Why We Should Ignore SC Vote" and I opened it out of curiosity. Here are some of the "highlights" from that thread:

"1% of the under 30 crowd voted and it's probably because they are scared."

" SC retains the Master/servant style of population. Hillary represents the master class well, with her riches and standing. Bernie, being Jewish and a white male has three strikes against him."

Another thread stated:

"The hell with the Confederacy...I just donated $10 to Bernie, join me in my defiance"

And there are others threads and comments like that. They are demonstrating why they lost SC and are likely to lose much of the South and states with big minority populations like Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey and Illinois. They just don't understand that the strength of the Democratic Party in the South is African-American voters. I find it offensive when a state like South Carolina has a turnout of African-Americans exceeding 61% in the Democratic primary and some ding bats writes that we "should ignore SC vote" or call a state with a significant African-American population part of "the Confederacy". To me this is why some Bernie supporters come across as latte liberals. Sure we want big turnouts among young people, but you can't base a national campaign just hoping that you win the white vote and voters under 30. There needs to be respect for the strength of the Democratic party--African-Americans and others (yes who may actually be middle aged or more) who actually care about getting out and voting because they believe in a candidate and don't want a GOP president elected.

This is mirroring exactly what the Republican Party 'hates' about "the Democrats."

Now we have to ask ourselves, "If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck...?

expect to expand the base and win nationally if they ignore states? South Carolina was 10 point loss in 2012 for Obama? Virginia was 8 percent in 2000 and 2004, and then Obama won it the last 2 elections. Demographics are constantly shifting, and the South, particularly the Carolinas (both North and South) and Georgia are slowly, excruciatingly drifting left because they have large African American populations AND because there are people from other parts of the country relocating there for work. That's why Virginia crossed over. And those states are next. Maybe not this election (although North Carolina is a toss-up already), maybe not the next, but eventually.

The big mistake John Kerry made was abandoning part of the country. Obama didn't make the same mistake, and if we want the Democratic Party to thrive, we can't abandon anything.

still ache for their children, they are sending a message, they are out voting to voice their opinion. When there is talk about millions of people changing the minds of Congressional members, the lack of progress on gun violence issues needs to be heard, there are millions calling for action.

Thanks for the campaign workers and lots of thanks to those who voted in SC.

Their negativity and tone deafness is corrosive, and I hope they bern out
before it starts effecting the party as a whole. Sorry to the nice people
in that camp who really believe in Bernie, but this whole thing has gone
sour pretty quick. I certainly don't intend to associate, personally or
through party, with people who espouse that sort of dismissive attitude.

I will keep donating to Hillary Clinton until my $2700 limit, and I will continue to give what I can to the DCCC in light of 2020 when we have our next census and we have the opportunity to take back the House.
