But now, there is virulently ugly stuff.
There are comments out that are so racist they should have been shown the door.
And its just OK.

So don't be:

...disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

At least, that's what it says in the automated messages we receive periodically - while posting and commenting in our "safe haven."

It's not easy when the candidate you give your heart to is losing. You grasp at any straw, clutch at any hope, and shred anyone who dares to point out that it's happening. It hurts. They'll need some time, and since we want them showing up for Clinton on Election Day, it's best not to poke at their wounds. Just let them be. We all know how it's gonna turn out in the end. No need to rub it in.

I recall the feelings in 2008. I was a Hillary Clinton supporter then, too. This has a weird sense of deja vu. But this time I'm on the other side of the fence.

But some of these comments are truly aggravating and ugly. I hope I wasn't as bad.

I've commented on a few of the worst posts, but I think it's best to leave people be in general, or at least not to try to rub salt in wounds. Try to put yourselves in their shoes tonight. Remember how New Hampshire felt for us. Soon we and the Bernie folks will have to get together to fight Herr Trumpf. So let the Bernie folks be. Most of them are decent, our friends, our fellow progressives/liberals. And most of them are not posting vile stuff. The few who do, will soon disappear, in all likelihood.

....an ideological corner. There's a whole bunch that I think will not vote if Bernie's campaign fails -- after all, I would not be able to bring myself to vote for a candidate I believed had all the attributes they say they believe Hillary has.

OTOH, in my lifetime, of all the Democratic candidates I have seen, of all the ones I wanted to succeed but who never made it out of the primaries, of all these many people -- I have never seen a Democrat I despised, or for whom I had to hold my nose, or who I thought was a liar and murderer or betrayer of all I hold dear. Not since I could actually vote. I was deeply disappointed in Hubert Humphrey to be sure, then in later years discovered what a wonderful progressive he really was before he got sucked into LBJ's administration and had to defend it. After that I learned to stand back a little...

What I'm saying is, Democrats aren't saints, and few of them are heroes, but what the GOP stands for by now is so far removed from anything I want for my country, that I will never throw away my vote in a general election.

See my avatar? Pigs will fly before I fail to vote for a Democrat.

Or is Bernie turning into a grumpy old sore loser? No gracious congratulations to Clinton, just a churlish depressing speech in MInnesota. Poor Bernie.

Gosh, did I just yell that? JURY: The man is 74.

Back to my post. His basic personality is crusty old guy. That's okay; it's who he is and works for him. Yuuuge numbers of people are fed up to the teeth with the way things are, and they want to scream. He's yelling for them good and loud.

Even when he's being a gentleman, like about the emails, it comes out grumpy: I don't care about your damn emails!

It's not just you.

I don't even understand half of the topics. What is the "third way"? This is like going to a Republican Board and they're blabbing about Saul Alinsky, and I'm thinking, "who the hell is Saul Alinsky?"
