Why I, a male, millennial, and person of color, am voting for Hillary Clinton

Really nice article today from Medium.com from a millennial laying out very excellent reasons to be with Hillary.

Over the course of the election season, the media has painted Hillary Clinton as a candidate who is out of touch with today’s millennials. In almost every debate or interview she gets asked a version of the question, “Why do you fail to connect with young voters?” These questions frustrate me because, while Bernie Sanders does have a passionate group of young supporters, Clinton also has a loyal group of young voters who would like to see her become president. I am writing this to offer my perspective of why I, a male, millennial, and person of color, am voting for Hillary Clinton.

First, Clinton’s resume is second to none. Before becoming First Lady and marrying President Bill Clinton, Clinton was an attorney at the Children’s Defense Fund and taught law at the University of Arkansas. As First Lady, Clinton led the charge to provide universal health care for all Americans. Although it failed, Clinton’s ideas and efforts laid much of the groundwork for today’s Affordable Care Act. As Senator of New York, she helped secure over $21 billion in funding for the redevelopment of the World Trade Centers and helped push equal pay legislation through the Paycheck Fairness Act and originally co-sponsoring the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Furthermore, as Secretary of State, Clinton negotiated a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel and oversaw freed trade agreements with US allies such as South Korea. I could go on and on.

He is also dead on. Hillary has a long history of standing up for women, children, and fairness. Also contrary to the constant unjust claims of warmonger, it is forgotten what an advocate for peace she has been around the world. She presided over the diplomatic relations of over 112 countries while secretary of state.

this in that perspective.

Hillary Clinton, by far, is the best candidate for the job. By far.

I put a Hillary sign in my yard this morning and a sticker on my car for the reasons above. I like Bernie, not some of his supporters so much, but I do wish we lived in a country where his ideas would work but we do not. I need a strong leader with broad experience especially foreign policy.

Do I wish the 1 percent didn't run the country, do I wish college tuition were free to all, do I wish we made a decent living with our education, yes of course, but I feel strongly we need someone who can handle a variety of issues, that person in my opinion is Hillary.

I also am fearful of any of the current Republicans in charge of choosing Supreme Court justices.

It has never taken this long to make up my mind, this year was different. I feel at home with my decision. If Bernie is the nominee I will support him, i am a Democrat, not a sometimes Democrat.

The idea of Republican SCOTUS selections is terrifying!
I really do think she will be an excellent president.

For excellent reasons.

Thank you for putting Hillary signs and stickers up. You embolden others by doing so. I hope they do not attract trouble from either left or right.

When I picked up my sign there was a lady in there who tried to talk me out of it and asked that I reconsider my decision. When we put Obama signs in our yard they were stolen twice and covered in nasty markings twice. I just kept getting them and putting them up.

There is much about Hillary Clinton for millennials to like if they can resist being primed otherwise.
