He said he would win "some of those states," which he will. He basically punted on South Carolina by saying "on to Super Tuesday" at the end.

He's making sure that the bar is as low as possible so when Hillary continues to clean his clock, he still beats expectations.

It's actually pathetic and makes me think he KNOWS he can't win, so instead he is trying to hang around as long as possible so he can get some sort of visibility at the convention, or maybe cajole himself into a VP spot (although Hillary is WAY too smart for that). His whole campaign is based on saying "I'm doing better than they thought I would," but he has no plausible path to victory.

in the platform. So you assessment about him wanting to stay in as long as possible if it becomes clear he wont win, makes sense.

He HAS to believe he's going to win Super Tuesday, and the rest of the primaries and caucuses. When he stops thinking he can win, he needs to pack it in.

Whether he WILL win Super Tuesday is a different question; the answer is, "almost certainly not."
