Hillary Clinton

The passing of Justice Scalia puts even more focus on why that is important.
The mantra that there "is no difference between republicans and Democrats", is not only misleading, but flat out wrong.
All one needs to do is look at the Supreme Court nominees under a Democratic President verses a republican one in the last 40 years, and it is obvious.
Beyond the SC, the differences are also obvious. The ACA, Gay Rights, the Lilly Ledbetter Act, and a wealth of other issues from the removal of chemical weapons in Syria, to the nuclear agreement with Iran, are just a few of the many issues that highlight the differences.
Those who fail to recognize those differences, perhaps are not the "progressives" they claim to be

(92,219 posts)feel the need to "bully" their way into a protected group supportive of Hillary.
Not unlike other behaviors we have seen, such as the spamming of Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and other individuals and groups such as John Lewis, Al Franken, etc, because they endorsed Hillary.

(14,255 posts)And if you think that my saying this is not necessary until we have a nominee is "bullying", then I guess that is a very stretchy word indeed.

(4,035 posts)Real democrats don't behave like children and refuse to acknowledge the choice of the party. To be honest, I thought it was a bannable offense on DU to say that you won't support the nominee of the Democratic party if it isn't your candidate. I've seen several say that they won't vote for Clinton if she is the nominee, and thought that wasn't ok on DU. However, the children are running the joint, so I guess we shouldn't expect anything less.

I read the gop debate was so bad last night that frank luntz tweeted that they're destroying the party and they have no one to blame but themselves.

(50,955 posts)they belong to a demographic where the only difficulty they face is the fact that there is a 1% and they are not part of it.
The ones who are saying they won't vote for the Democrat MUST have decided that if this issue is not the ONLY issue addressed, well then they can't be bothered about all the social issues the rest of us face. They've got theirs on those, and screw everyone who won't make their concerns the most important concerns.

(32,342 posts)The Friedrichs decision would probably have reduced the labor movement so low, we'd have ceased to have a voice. Devastating not just for us, but for our work in politics.
I'm sure the right-wing will be back for another bite at that apple.
We must absolutely get a nominee from a Democratic administration.

(297,322 posts)frightening. He was for everything detrimental and now that he's gone.. life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and a better hope for dealing with Climate Change are looking up.
Unreal.. you couldn't make up this shite.

(32,342 posts)We've been on a knife's edge for decades with this Court. There have been good decisions, but the ones coming up were not going to fare well.
If another conservative picks the next few judges, the US as we know it could be gone.
