I'll tell you what ... there are going to be some VERY surprised (and annoyed) people on this web site when it becomes clear that Bernie will not be the nominee.

I can't wait.

Go, Hillary! We love you!

answer a direct question! Duh! If she answers every question, they might answer some of them too!

Heh. Really, it's deflection at its finest. Quickly bring up something their opponent does that's bad in their eyes, and it means their candidate is #BernieSoPure.

Of course, it doesn't answer the question, their rejoinder may not be something you have a problem with, and you'll only see that they aren't facing reality.

Most of the replies were: "How would Hillary do it?" And the most direct answers were, "we re-take the senate with all the new voters coming into the process". Below is a list of some of the states that will have to be flipped.

The problem is that Bernie is making grand promises to his supporters, knowing full well that he cannot deliver on them because he doesn't have a real strategy to do so, just these broad attacks on Wall Street and campaign donations.

His followers are becoming true believers in his cause, but it's a cause without a coherent electoral nor legislative strategy to deliver it. If he cannot get his SCOTUS nominee through, then how in the world can he deliver Single payer and free college.

The balance of power in the Senate is 54-44. Add in two Democratic-caucusing independents (DCIs) and you get 54-46.

Just for the hell of it, let's say Sanders gets elected in November. The governor of Vermont will have to send a new senator to replace him. VT is reliably liberal so now it's 54-45 with one DCI. To get ANYTHING through Congress he needs two things: maybe 30 seats past 50 percent in the House (to compensate for the fact Democrats don't vote as a bloc on ANYTHING) and fourteen to fifteen new Democratic senators to stave off the inevitable automatic filibusters.

Even if there's a massive Democratic wave, he won't get either.

Constituent Pressure.

Imagine 1 million motivated activist voters.
Twenty thousand per state / Ten thousand per Senator.
Weekly letters, daily phone calls. Constituent Office visits.
Trips to Washington. Trips to State capitals.
Social Media. Boycotts. Indy news.

Because those voters don't affect them electorally. Senators from GA, ND, SD, Idaho, etc. don't give one fuck about letters and protests.

No, didn't do that either. They play the fundie and other religious voters, and poor white voters, for suckers.

Bernie Sanders doesn’t get how politics works

Maybe it’s that Sanders finds a way to answer virtually every question by turning it back to another predictable and one-dimensional attack on Wall Street and big money.

>>>snip<<<

This is frankly what’s become so frustrating about Sanders’ campaign. I give the man credit for raising issues all too rarely heard in presidential debates, and as a protest candidate, Sanders is playing a vital role in the political process. But now that Sanders’ campaign has gathered steam — and he is ludicrously claiming that he’s more electable than Hillary Clinton — Sanders needs to do more than just sound the same tiresome platitudes and one-dimensional arguments about the evils of Wall Street. He needs to take the job of running for president seriously.

More, good op ed.>>>>>

Feb 2016

In a democracy, when you give people an enemy and tell them that all of their problems will go away and we can have a utopia if we just do "x", then you are pandering.

Pandering is a powerful political tool. It creates true believers who regard anyone who disagrees with them as the enemy that must be destroyed.

and heads straight for scapegoating.

One hundred percent of America's problems do not stem from Wall Street. It's that simple. Remove that, and you still have much of America's issues remaining.

Solve every bit of income inequality (good luck with that) and you still have most issues remaining.

We face a panoply of challenges, which require a diverse and discrete set of solutions.

The answer is HE CAN'T! NEITHER can Hillary. Hell, they don't even want he current President to NOMINATE, let alone get ANT candidate of his onto the SCOTUS.

In my last post I said it is MANDATORY for US as Democrats, to push to get more Dems & Indies to the polls and not only electe a Dem as Prez. but to get a conciliatory congress (both houses) that will work with that new Prez. No matter which candidate you support, they deserve our support to get that congress or neither will be able to accomplish their goals.
