(22,145 posts)she will endorse her. Same with Bernie. She wants to be in someone's cabinet, in my opinion.

(40,416 posts)Then, she will be all in on whoever that is.
I think she's just pragmatic and sees no advantage to get involved with primary politics. She wants to stay in the Senate and will have to work with whichever Democratic candidate wins in November.
I don't think she will endorse until things settle down a bit, and one or the other has a clear advantage. While I don't think she'll wait until someone has the nomination completely sown up, after Super Tuesday we should have a pretty good idea who the nominee is going to be, and I think she'll endorse then. Were she to endorse Clinton now, or even after NH or SC, Sanders supporters would never let her live it down, no matter how this contest plays out. I think she's wise to play it safe right now because she's caught in the middle between them in many ways, or at least it appears that way.
She is an important and influential voice in the Senate and the candidate will need her on board. She will do a lot to mend the party once the primaries are over, I think.

(15,951 posts)since they are so close on the issues. What is holding her back? I admire & like Senator Warren if she endorses Bernie or Hillary that is fine with me.

(44,173 posts)Just like I would welcome the support of any ordinary citizen who is not famous or not a US Senator.

(9,123 posts)Warren is focused on the corruption on Wall Street and knows Congress must act. A vast majority of voters care about this. I think she will surprise people and endorse Hillary and remain in the Senate to draft legislation
My ideal scenario is that HRC takes office and begins the calls for Wall Street reform. The GOP will likely keep both chambers, and their resistance will cause voters to boot them out in 2018.

(92,219 posts)As much as many are trying to push that idea, it makes no sense for her to do so

(92,219 posts)neck out. She doesn't want to lose the "populous motif".
She is playing it both ways

(297,317 posts)Yes, someday she'll trip up. 'Cause I don't like the crowd she's playing to.

(50,560 posts)Bernie's "reforms" won't solve the problem...do ya really think serious stock players don't know you can trade US issues through HSBC in Hong Kong and escape Bernie's transaction tax? Or that they won't bail on US issues altogether and stick to European or Asian blue chips? And exactly why does Bernie refuse to rein in the OTC derivatives industry that caused the Great Recession? Warren, of all people, knows this.
On the other side of the primary ballot, Warren notices Clinton doesn't think stockbrokers have cloven hooves.

(9,123 posts)when Hillary wins the nomination. Marco Rubio is out there saying Obama is trying to make the U.S. like the rest of the world. That's some claim. The mere idea of getting more health care coverage for Americans is a negative in their minds. It is so twisted and cruel.
The more the Republicans gripe though the easier it should be to bring Dems back together. Warren is so good at putting the focus on criminals on Wall Street and the harm that has done to our economy and income inequality, which should help undecideds opt for the Democrat. And I think Warren should at least be a main speaker at the convention, even if there is no endorsement.

(10,845 posts)She sees the hand writing on the wall. She needs to keep her powder dry so as not to piss off the kids and bros. then, she will endorse Hillary when it is clear she has it wrapped up, and then use her position to unite progressives and the rest of the party.
