Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumCan I get a witness?!!
Come on now! My southern blood is feeling a good old tent revival for Hillary today! We need to shove off the hate from GD-P and get excited about our cause!
Let me give you my testimony -
Hear me now. I'm an old one. Been here since February of 2001! I heard the Rev. Jackson implore us in 2000 to STAY OUT OF THE BUSHES - but we didn't heed that warning.
We were deep in the bushes. Stuck for 8 long years. Democratic Underground was our safe haven! Our place to cry and to wail together regardless of philosophical bent.
Then we had a tough, tough fight in 2008. Clinton and Obama fought but came together as one to win it for Obama. We have come so far out of those bushes in the past 7 years. Too much progress has been made to lament the things that were not possible with the obstructionists in congress.
I'm an old, old one. While I'm old I know no better than anyone here. I've just seen a few things more.
I've seen Clinton work hard as the Secretary of State. I've seen her work hard as a Senator from New York. I've seen her work hard to make things better for all of us. She's not perfect, but she is ours and she is one of us.
I'm an old, old one...on the other side of middle age white male from the deep south. I've depended on DU to keep me sane for many years. I've seen members destroy one another...and lift one another up. I've seen us hate and I've seen us care. I've seen us cry and I've seen us laugh. I've seen us lose and I've seen us win.
I am Stuckinthebush from Alabama. From the Deep Red South.
I am a father, husband, son, co-worker, and friend.
I am a progressive, a liberal, a moderate, a pragmatist.
I AM A DEMOCRAT!
I am a PROUD Hillary Clinton supporter who knows that she is the best candidate to take the wheel of this country and drive us to the future. She will make us proud, she will make us disappointed at times, but she will lead us all - the entire country - through the hate and fear. She will be our president and she will be fabulous!
Don't listen to the hate and ignore the rehashed GOP smears! She WILL win the nomination with our hard work and support. I won't shy away from that support here at DU nor in my community. I WILL stand up for Clinton because she stands up for me and my daughters.
I will also do my best to reach out my hand to our fellow Dems when this is over. I will do my best to ignore the animosity and work together to win the GE for the Democratic Party. There is too much at stake and too much to lose if we don't win.
I'm proud. I'm for Hillary. I'm ready to go!
Give your testimony and let's be proud and loud together!

(27,985 posts)I, too proudly stand with Clinton. I've seen her break glass ceilings, I've seen her stand up for us, I've seen her name mistakes. I see the support she has of many of the women I most admire who know her much more than any of us here. I've watched her grow as a person, along with me.
I'm sick of the animosity and I'm such of being treated like I should be ashamed of supporting one of the most qualified people who's ever run for the highest office in the nation.

(15,438 posts)You've said all there needs to be said in that post. A fine read that's inspired me and has me now enjoy the brilliant sun beaming over my city this wonderful Saturday.
I'm a PROUD Hillary Clinton supporter as well. She's warm, smart, astute, fearless, and the ONLY qualified and experienced candidate running, and she has our vote locked up. She's promised with her heart and all her soul, that if we work hard for her, she'll work hard for us, and I have no reason to doubt her sincerity.
I've only been at DU since November 2004, but it was my haven from AOL chatrooms where I met the nastiest people. Democratic Underground was a godsend, an oasis in a sea of desert sand; my one place to go when my children were too young to vote or care about politics and I had no one to talk to except a few of my friends who are all Democrats but not necessarily politically active. And although at times - and much like an old married couple - DU and I quibble, I always find myself returning and we kiss and make up and all is good.
I'm proud. I'm for Hillary. I'm ready to go!

(10,845 posts)DU will be that haven again. It's just our normal every four year gripe-fest. This too shall pass!
Let's get out there and secure this nomination for Hillary!

I've been here on DU since 2007, and I remember THOSE primaries.
I am a proud (and loud!) Democrat, from a Democratic family; my dad was a big FDR fan. My parents would kill me from their graves if I voted for a Republican.
I'm with Hillary, because she is with us!

(213 posts)I'm old, too. An old white woman whose first vote was for JFK in 1960. I'm a lifelong Democrat and a strong feminist. A grandmother of two adorable granddaughters who don't think it is any big deal that their president is African America. So I'm hoping they will think it is just natural when we elect a woman as president. No big deal, right? Right! But it will be a really big deal to me! Actually a BFD (to borrow from Joe Biden.) so I applaud your comments and will stay around DU a while longer but only in the Hillary Group. Because I'm too old to read all the negative crap on most of DU. Just don't have to subject myself to that any more. Not interested.
SO, LETS GO HILLARY!!

We have to win the general election!
Having a woman in there is just to cherry on top of all of that!
