A FB friend who is a strong Sanders supporter was just talking about

how much she is bothered by so damn many of his other supporters. She's sick of them being sexist trash talking assholes to Clinton supporters. She compared her feelings about Sanders to Gandhi's about Christ.

There were some heated exchanges, as you can imagine.

There's so much denial of it and victim blaming all over the internet. Reddit, Daily Kos, Facebook and, obviously here as we well know.

I find that many (not ALL) Sanders supporters believe 100% in their hearts that he is ideologically pure. I also think they believe Clinton supporters think Hillary is. I, and literally every Clinton supporter I know, know full well she, and no politician is (OK, I'm lying, Feingold is mine).

As such, they cannot reconcile how on God's green earth we could not agree with them and constantly try to point out every awful thing Clinton has done rather than build their candidate up. They think his purity of obvious and her evilness is so obvious that were assholes and idiots. And feel the need to tell us incessantly. It's like they find the abusive treatment as justified, necessary.

It's just so sad to see the division. We have two great candidates who would be light years better than any the GOP could run.

Sigh. I just hope we can recover and coelese around a candidate and get the fuck to the polls in November. The impact of a loss would be felt for generations otherwise.

I know a number of people who were interested in what Sanders had to say but who have become sickened by his supporters.

News flash to his supporters: Not all Dems are far leftists. It's a big party and the extremism of Sander's supporters is not viewed as welcoming by a majority of Dems.

helping convince me to support Sanders, and I'm not sure if the wounds can be healed at this point. I've been accused of supporting Clinton because she's a woman (I'm a guy so that argument is kind of questionable). I've been accused of being a shill, being stupid, being ignorant, and just flat out insulted.

I'm not impressed with Sanders' record, demeanor, campaign staff actions, speeches, or debating skills. That's not going to change, and I don't think he has any shot at the Presidency post the press vetting he's about to get (which is already starting).

The noisy (and obnoxious) supporters' actions are simply one more nail in the coffin.

Will I drag myself, gagging, into the voting booth in November and vote for him? I guess. I'll happily vote Dem on the down-ticket, of course.

I don't vote with my vagina, like they've been accusing. And I would vote for Bernie, if the is the nominee but I won't be happy about it.

Also - I'm beginning to wonder how many Sanders supporters are really Democrats anyway. They seem to have so little memory of what Team Clinton did for us. I think some of them, like Bernie, aren't Democrats and wouldn't vote anyway. Oh well.

I have heard all of the crap, now Sanders is accusing her of not being progressive and then we find he does not pass his progressive rules either. Maybe it would be better to stop his accusation unless he can clean up his record.

Bernie's supporters live on Jupiter and believe in unicorns

Wait that got Andy 30 days in the hole.

What worries me is that once the nomination is over, many Sanders supporters (many are newbies and have never identified with a party before) will be shocked and bitter. If they do not support Sec. Clinton (most likely the nominee) at that point going into the GE then the scenario they constantly put forward that Sanders does better against the Repubs will become true to them. They probably won't even realize or care that they made it happen that way--self-fulfilling prophecy.
Also, they may remain jaded for some time. Some might drift into the extreme right and many will likely just say there is no difference and not vote during the midterms and future elections for a few cycles. This is a dream-come-true scenario to the Republican Party.

It referred to Hillary as "HRH," characterized her debate performance as "manic," and closed with the words "I absolutely detest her."

I know there are a lot of really passionate HRC fans here, but I've never seen any of us stoop as low as what I saw a few days ago. It's sickening.

We're all passionate and well informed. It's so condescending and, often, hyperbolic. She was called "unfit for office" earlier, "the worst person in the world" the other day. Her supporters called meth users, ignorant, warhawks and far worse here. We're accused of "voting with our vaginas".

Just stop.
