NBC News has rebutted the allegation that a set of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's emails that are being withheld from public release by the State Department revealed the names of undercover intelligence operatives, a claim that had been trumpeted by the right-wing media. The allegation originated with an anonymously-sourced report issued by John Schindler, a columnist who was resigned from the Naval War College following an investigation into his erratic behavior.
State Department Withholds Clinton Emails At Request Of Intelligence Community

State Department: Seven Email Chains Will Be Withheld From Freedom of Information Act Production, No Emails Marked Classified At Time They Were Sent. In a January 29 statement, State Department Spokesperson John Kirby said that seven email chains would be held from the Department's regular production of Clinton emails for public viewing after they were "upgraded at the request of the Intelligence Community because they contain a category of Top Secret information." Kirby added that "These documents were not marked classified at the time they were sent." [Kirby statement, 1/29/16, via Twitter]

Clinton Campaign: This Is "Over-Classification Run Amok." The Clinton presidential campaign responded to the news by stating that they "firmly oppose the complete blocking of the release of these emails," calling their withholding the result of "over-classification run amok." and they've stacked this site, that's why they all get voted to "Leave It".

I hope it changes after Sec. Clinton locks up the nomination. If not, I'm outa' here.

Prevent Hillary, the most qualified candidate running, from becoming president. It is not working, the GOP does not have a candidate which can match her skills and abilities so they have hoped Sanders would be the nominee and they could beat someone like Sanders.

Colin Powell disagrees with the retroactive classification of HIS e-mails, from the Washington Post:

Hillary Clinton gained an apparent ally Thursday in her fight to limit the political damage from her growing email controversy, as former Republican secretary of state Colin L. Powell said he disagreed with a State Department decision to retroactively classify two emails from his personal account while in office.

“I have reviewed the messages, and I do not see what makes them classified,” Powell said of the emails, which were uncovered late last year by the State Department’s inspector general and, he said, brought to his attention by the department in recent weeks.

The emails, initially sent to the State Department by two U.S. ambassadors serving abroad and forwarded to Powell’s account by an aide, were described in notifications sent to Congress in recent days by the State Department and intelligence community inspectors general.

Those notifications also said that 10 emails with retroactively classified information had been found on private accounts of the “immediate staff” of Condoleezza Rice, Powell’s immediate successor in the second term of the George W. Bush administration.

The originators of the messages to Powell did not classify them, he said, and “if the department wishes to say a dozen years later they should have been classified, that is an opinion of the department that I do not share.”
