Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday will unveil the details of what she has called a “down payment on the future,” a $250 billion ....................

On Sunday, Mrs. Clinton introduced the “Hard Hats for Hillary” infrastructure portion of her jobs plan at a rally at Faneuil Hall in Boston, alongside Mayor Martin J. Walsh, who endorsed her candidacy. “Investing in infrastructure makes our economy more productive and competitive across the board,” she said.

But improving the nation’s bridges, railroads and tunnels while providing middle-class jobs is not the only part of Mrs. Clinton’s plan. She intends to devote the critical month of December to a series of policy proposals meant to create jobs.
.....................................

Mrs. Clinton’s plan would overhaul the business tax code to pay for the infrastructure investment, according to her campaign. She has repeatedly told voters that she would not raise taxes on the middle class. “I’m the only Democratic candidate in this race who will pledge to raise your incomes, not your taxes,” Mrs. Clinton said in Boston, a veiled attack at Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont’s health care plan.

The start of Mrs. Clinton’s jobs agenda (and the “Hard Hats for Hillary” infrastructure proposals) comes at the beginning of a peripatetic week for the Democratic candidate. After events in Boston and New Hampshire on Sunday, Mrs. Clinton will attend events in Washington on Monday, followed by appearances this week in Alabama, Florida, New Hampshire and Iowa.

I am laughing my ass off at those who want to raise my taxes to pay for their kids college but they don't want to pay to drive on good roads or cross good bridges.

It is dumb to refuse to do proper maintenance and this has been the RW way for too many years.

However, the patronage networks are salivating because this is just old school politics. All politics are local, and bringing in the money down to the municipality level only reinforces the crooked ties between the leaders of the public and private sector that violate our Civil Rights. There is a backroom army of illegal activity that goes on as business as usual in our municipalities, and sadly, this influx of Federal money only feeds it.

I'm sure these infrastructure projects will improve our lives and provide jobs with good wages. We don't want to just sit down and pout and let everything fall to pieces, do we?

Hillary knows this game better than most. If she wants to put a stop to the patronage cycle, she will know how to do it. It will be unprecedented, and a good show of good will.

BTW, thank you for allowing me to make these comments in the Hillary Group. I didn't notice that when I posted. I would be happy to remove the comments if you all prefer.
