Hillary Clinton blasted Congress for not acting on gun control as the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence honored her Thursday at a big-ticket bash in lower Manhattan.

“There are people too dangerous to be let on airplanes, but Congress won’t stop them from getting guns,” the Democratic presidential hopeful said. “We can do this from the grass roots, and I believe we can do it from the top down.”

Celebrities, Gov. Cuomo and Sen. Chuck Schumer attended the $1,000-a-plate Cipriani on Broadway gala for the lobbying group’s annual “Bear Awards,” named for James Brady. The White House press secretary was shot and gravely wounded in a 1981 attempt on President Ronald Reagan’s life.

She will be attacked by the NRA. She is the first Presidential candidate to stand against the NRA, who have been so powerful in the past that they would use their considerable resources to take down anyone who disagreed with them. It shows her strength.
