Westmoreland says Hillary made the Benghazi hearing last 11 hours on purpose....

so the GOP would look cruel. I'm serious.

Benghazi Committee Member: Clinton Made Hearing Long So GOP Would “Look Cruel”

Republican Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, a member of the House Select Committee On Benghazi, said former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton laid “a trap” for the committee by making her Oct. 22 appearance go “as long as possible.”
Last month, Clinton testified before the GOP-led committee investigating the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. The hearing stretched 11 hours and was widely seen as a bust for Republicans.
“As you know, some of you may have watched the marathon Hillary Clinton fiasco, and I say that because Trey Gowdy, the chairman of the committee, wanted to interview her in private, and she said, ‘No, I want to do this in public,’” Westmoreland said in a recent speech uploaded to YouTube.
“Now to me, that was us stepping in a trap because we should have known that she was going to go on and just stall, debate, filibuster, on these answers to make it go as long as possible, so we would look cruel,” he continued.

.... it would make Republicans look like bigger fools than they already are, which I didn't think was possible, but Westmoreland making this statement has proven me wrong.

and let them talk unfettered, for 11 hours, ha ha. Gowdy could have stopped it any time he wanted to. HRC was right to insist it be public.

Oh yeah, the GOP is cruel. No one made them look that way but themselves.

Typical Republican tactic: no matter what, blame the other guy (gal) for your failures.

Trey Gowdy could've called off the meeting any time he wanted, and I'm certain Hillary Clinton could've done the same. But had she done that, Republicans would've run to any mic and camera (of which there were many on ready for them) and wail, "She cut off the meeting short! What is she hiding?! We need MORE investigations!"

Knowing the Republicans the way she does, Hillary Clinton knew they'd try something like that so she sat tight and with every passing hour, looked stronger and more presidential. She's learned well from President Obama who masterfully used political jiu jitsu against his enemies, and turned their strengths against them.

Brilliantly done, SoS Clinton.
