Hillary Clinton promised that gun control will be a central plank of her presidential campaign on Tuesday, her latest salvo against the gun lobby.

"We are going to be determined and committed and we are going to make this a voting issue, just like the other side does," Clinton said while campaigning in Iowa Tuesday afternoon.

Clinton met with the mothers of four African American children who have been killed in the last year Monday night in Chicag – Trayvon Martin, Jordan Davis, Michael Brown and Tamir Rice.

"A number of them have lost their children to senseless gun violence, and they are determined to do what they can to prevent this from happening to any other family. And so am I," she declared, promising to fight for comprehensive background checks and repeal the unique immunity from liability gun makers and sellers enjoy.
