Bernie went negative. With Hillary and 1996 Bill.
I'm sure that even in the Hillary Group, someone will be along shortly to tell why that wasn't really negative.

(6,537 posts)Berniebots are a breed unto themselves. That's why I don't come here much anymore. The demonization of Hillary Clinton on this board is too much to stomach. The personal stuff is horrible. I just signed on for the JJ dinner. I'll be signing off now.

(4,309 posts)I just back to Maryland after attending an event in New York and I am happy to say all of my New York relatives are BIG TIME for Hillary. My nieces, love them, just attended a grassroots volunteer training session for the campaign.
It's so exciting!

(52 posts)Only a policy issue.
Hillary subtly accused Bernie of making a sexist remark when he said let's not shout at each other about how to regulate guns. He has been saying that for a long time to both men and women, was not directed at her. She went personally negative.

(14,846 posts)Warren and Barney Frank come to mind. Some don't... Bernie, Ed Shultz and Orrin Hatch come to mind.
Know what I mean?

(6,537 posts)Read reply number one! Lol. Bernie went negative. Anyone who heard that speech knows it. Bernie subtly called her a liar concerning DOMa and DADT.........some people say that DOMA and DADT were passed to prevent worse legislation...that is not true! That is a not so subtle reference to her Maddow interview last night! But of course you probably didn't watch it because Hillary. And the stuff about Bill is from the 90's. Weak sauce.
This is the Hillary Group; if you want to start an argument, go somewhere else.

(16,104 posts)Hillary pointed out leaders have to make choices, sometimes make the best of bad choices.
When you're sitting in the bleachers you're pretty safe to say anything, take any position, you are just watching the game, no skin in it - especially if you don't even commit to a team!
charlyvi
(6,537 posts)And God help you if you change your positions from THIRTY years ago! Then you are hypocrite and liar......or flip flopper! Sanders spent half his speech discussing shit that happened thirty years ago. Insinuating that the woman who was FLOTUS, sitting in on the negotiations, was lying about the reasons the 30 years ago legislation was passed!

(1,545 posts)Bernie and his supporters can't take even a little bit of heat.

(6,537 posts)there were others. The tone of the speech was different for him. I was surprised. He's got to do something I guess to pull his numbers up. But you're right....if you barely suggest that maybe Bernie didn't spring forth full blown out of FDR's ass, you're some kind of progressive heretic. And I loved FDR.........let's just say I'm sick of the Bern.

(6,537 posts)Sorry, I thought your post said GOP, not GDP. Need glasses. But she can take on her Democratic opponents too. Hillary has proven she can take care of herself. And the country.
